Michael Jones, President and CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona

Michael Jones serves as the President & CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona (DDAZ), the leading dental benefits insurance company in the state whose mission is creating a path to better health and wellness. Jones is also President & Chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation (DDAZF), which provides much needed funding, education, and dental supplies to those in need across the entire state. Michael’s focus is on increasing profit, improving efficiency, optimizing technology, cultivating effective relationships, delivering strategies that better integrate customer needs, and developing engaged, high-performing leaders.

His success comes from a natural ability to quickly assess business situations, simplify complexity in dynamic environments, execute creative solutions, take measured risks, and genuinely connect with people to accomplish goals. His collaborative, results-oriented approach strengthens leaders and creates cultures where employees are challenged to do their best.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked across a variety of industries most notably healthcare and management consulting.

A popular, sought-after speaker, Michael focuses on such topics as the Leadership Imperative, Profit-Driven Strategies in Non-Profit Organizations, and Creating Dynamic Businesses. He has been featured in several articles and cover stories in many publications and currently serves on the Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL) organization which is comprised of leading CEOs focused on driving growth and enrichment opportunities in the city of Phoenix, Arizona.

Michael holds a BS in Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business where he was a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship Recipient. A native of Chicago, Michael now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and dog. He has two adult children.

Mark Anderson, vice president and chief financial officer

Mark Anderson serves as the chief financial officer for Delta Dental of Arizona and has almost 40 years of experience in the finance and health care industries. He is responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, information technology and facilities management.

In addition, Anderson serves on several boards within the community, including Southwest Human Development and the Arizona Coyotes Foundation.

Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He currently lives in Phoenix with his wife.

 Jason Greenwood, senior vp of marketing and communications

Jason Greenwood, senior vice president of marketing and communications, joined Delta Dental of Arizona in 2023. He is responsible for overseeing brand strategy, product development, digital customer experience, and growth initiatives.

Greenwood brings more than 25 years of experience to the position. Prior to joining Delta Dental, he served as chief marketing officer of The Joint Chiropractic, the nation’s largest operator, manager and franchisor of chiropractic clinics. Under his leadership, the business saw exponential growth and earned numerous brand accolades, including being named “America’s Best Small Company” by Forbes and among the top three fastest growing companies in the nation by Fortune.

Greenwood also spent a decade at Phoenix-based Peter Piper Pizza, including several years as the chief marketing officer leading brand strategy, culinary and customer experience. He was also a multi-unit franchisee for Robeks Juice and spent several years at Young & Rubicam Advertising, creating growth strategies for high-profile clients like Ford Motor Company.

Greenwood earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Eastern Michigan University and his master’s degree in international business from Wayne State University. He currently lives in Phoenix with his wife and two children.

Jolean Fleck, senior vp of people and organizational development

Jolean Fleck, senior vice president of people and organizational development, joined Delta Dental of Arizona in 2019. In this role, she works to shape the company’s culture and create an enriching experience for employees. With a focus on building a strong, high-performing team, Fleck is also responsible for leadership development and employer branding.

Prior to joining Delta Dental of Arizona, Fleck was the chief talent officer and human resources director for the Town of Gilbert, Arizona. As an experienced talent manager, she has spent more than 25 years delivering HR solutions across diverse industries that align with business strategy and improve the employee experience.

Fleck has an undergraduate degree in business administration with a human resources concentration from Austin Peay State University and a master’s degree in business from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Fleck holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and a Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. In addition, Fleck is a member of the board of directors of Save the Family, an organization that works to end family homelessness in the valley.

Leslie Hess, general counsel and chief compliance and risk management officer

Leslie Hess, general counsel, chief compliance and risk management officer, joined Delta Dental of Arizona in February 2018. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing Delta Dental of Arizona’s legal affairs, federal and state regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.  She also leads and directs the company’s government affairs and advocacy initiatives in Arizona and at the national level in coordination with the Delta Dental Plans Association.

Hess has worked in the insurance and financial services industry for over 35 years. Prior to joining Delta Dental, she served as the interim director of the Arizona Department of Insurance where she led the state’s insurance regulatory agency and was a member of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Hess has both private and public-sector experience, including serving as the director of compliance and corporate secretary for Oxford Life Insurance Company and its subsidiaries and more than 11 years as deputy receiver and financial affairs legal officer at the Arizona Department of Insurance. She also spent two years at the Arizona Legislature at Legislative Council and worked in the securities division at the Arizona Corporation Commission for seven years. Early in her career, Hess worked as an attorney for both Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns in New York City.

Hess has a juris doctor from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a master’s degree in counseling from Arizona State University. Hess previously served on the board of directors of Arizona Helping Hands and was a founding member of the Cactus Wren Chapter of the National Charity League. She is married with one daughter.

Craig Livesay, vice president and chief operating officer

Craig Livesay, senior vice president and chief operating officer, joined Delta Dental of Arizona in 2003. In this role, he is responsible for the overall strategy and performance of provider network relations, utilization management, information technology, claims processing, enrollment services, call center operations and project management.

Prior to Delta Dental, he spent seven years in underwriting and risk management with Prudential Insurance Company.

An Arizona native, Livesay earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University. He currently lives in Scottsdale with his wife and three sons.

Damon Young, senior vice president of sales

Damon Young, senior vice president of sales, joined Delta Dental of Arizona in 2024. In this role, he provides directional oversight, coaching and mentorship to the sales and account management teams and builds and maintains relationships with clients, partners and brokers.

Young brings more than 25 years of experience to the role, most recently as vice president of national partnerships at Crossover Health, a national primary health medical group that delivers integrated health services to employers and payers. Prior, he served as vice president of provider care solutions at OptumHealth, leading efforts to help health systems and medical groups with strategies to scale resources with a goal of reaching, coordinating, triaging and managing the care of a broader population. He also served as vice president of business development across the Southwest for DaVita Medical Group and executive director of partnership integration at DuPage Medical Group. Young also brings experience from various roles in sales, account management, operations and contracting at Humana, WebMD, Mayo Clinic Arizona, Kaiser Permanente of Southern California and Youth Services International.

Young earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology with a health and medicine concentration from the University of Pennsylvania and master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota. A Maryland native, he is married with two sons and resides in Cave Creek.
