Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation Grant Supports Dental Lifeline Network

(GLENDALE, Ariz. – February 22, 2022) The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation has awarded a $30,000 grant to Dental Lifeline Network • Arizona to help vulnerable individuals in the state get critical dental care through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program. The grant will help a total of 85 seniors in Arizona receive comprehensive dental care.

The funds will support the coordination of services provided through 160 dentists and 63 dental laboratories who volunteer for DDS in Arizona. DDS volunteers donate comprehensive treatment to people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile.

The Arizona DDS program has provided over $3.5 million in donated services to over 600 patients since it began in 2002. The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation’s grant is a significant contribution to the cumulative celebration happening for the DDS program nationally. For over 35 years, DLN has partnered with volunteer dentists, laboratories, and strategic corporate partners across the country and connected people with special needs to comprehensive dentistry. This past August, DLN reached a new milestone: $500 Million in donated dental treatment! That’s half a billion dollars of care which has helped 165,000 individuals.

“We are thrilled by the generosity of Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation, and their ongoing commitment to improve our communities’ health by promoting dental care,” said Dr. Victoria Griego, Dental Lifeline Network • Arizona Leadership Council Chair. “Through this grant, Delta Dental has enabled us to provide life-changing treatments to seniors across Arizona who desperately need it, but are otherwise unable to access it.”

“Seniors in our community with poor oral health tend to face extra hurdles in getting dental care. By supporting this program, we are making it easier for these vulnerable Arizonans to get the care they need, which will ultimately improve their quality of life,” said Michael Jones, president and chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Arizona and chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation.
